J/psi suppression at high energy heavy ion collisions

Some experimental datas from heavy Ion collisions experiments related to quarkonia production are plotted againts the centrality of the heavy collision. One way to calculate the centrality is using the Glauber Model. In this talk an aplication of the Glauber model will be used for calculating the centrality in Au-Au collisions for a step matter density function. A short historical introduction of quarkonia production in heavy Ion collisions experiments will be presented previously, specifically the production and suppression of J/psi and its connection with the hypotesis of Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) formation.
