An Introduction to String Theory Part II

String theory is a branch of theoretical physics that combines quantum mechanics and general relativity altogether. In two lectures we try to give you an introduction with basic notation, formalism and analysis of the classical and quantum theory. Second lecture starts from short review how to transit from classical to quantum theory. Quantisation of the string isn't simple task and causes several problems like negative norm states and tachyonic states. As we will see consequences of quantization procedure applied to strings lead to non-trivial results.
