The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Noncommutative Spacetimes

In my seminar I will briefly present the history of Noncommutative Geometry approach to Quantum Gravity. I will try to explain what noncommutative spacetimes are, why they might be useful to describe physics at Planck scale and how they are connected with quantum groups and certain modification of special relativity, called deformed (or doubly) special relativity. Also I will introduce our latest results concerning kappa-Minkowski spacetime and time delays for photons coming from Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs).
